Meet 5 Brilliant Female students that have emerged as on 1-Day Governor in Nigeria
The trend of the year has been giving young minds the ability to be governor for a day in a state. This page will list five students who have emerged as 1-day governors of a state.
These are intelligent, smart, and lucky students who either won a competition or emerged best in another thing.
The list;
*1 Zuffon Bukola*
Zuffon Bukola
Since 2015, the state government has taken full charge of the programme, collaborating with partners and stakeholders to further help realize its objectives.
In 2017, the Lagos State Government became the state’s in Nigeria to give her governor’s sit to young teenagers, Zuffon Bukola, emerging as the first of such a teenager.
Zuffon Bukola, who attended Awodiora Senior Secondary School, Ajegunle, at 16 year-old, emerged the One-Day Governor of Lagos State after she won at a Spelling Bee Competition sometime in June 2017.

The Lagos State First Lady, Joke Sanwo-Olu, receiving Miss Gloria Eniola Ajala, 2018 spelling bee winner.
Continuing its good development, the Lagos State Governor in 2018, made Gloria Eniola Ajala, after winning the spelling bee competition.
She was received by the state Governor on 26th March 2021. She represented the Lagos Island East LCDA in the contest.
*3 Jemimah Marcus*
Just a few days ago, the Lagos State Government gave the seat of power and authority to Ms. Jemimah Marcus, a 17-year-old, for a brief moment to act as a one-day governor of Lagos state.
Jemimah is a student of Angus memorial secondary school in Somali, Lagos east, she is the winner of the 2020 edition of the spelling bee competition.
*4:Precious Nnenna Okorie*
Following the steps of Lagos State, Abia State Government last week made Mss precious Okorie their one-day Governor after winning the completion organized for such feat.
Handing over to Miss Okorie, at Governor’s Lodge, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, the state Governor, said the One Day Governor initiative was designed to motivate youths to aspire to leadership and create opportunities for them to excel.

Joy Ezechikamnayo was the first to be sworn in as Abia State One day Governor when the program was newly launched.
The 14-year-old was a student of Intellectual Giants Christian Academy, Umuahia. She emerged as the top performer after a tough essay competition organized in the state.
The Background Story of 1-day Governor in Lagos State
Since 2015, the Lagos State Government has taken full charge of the programme, collaborating with numerous partner's and stakeholders to further help realize its goals. The Office of Education Quality Assurance, in the State’s Ministry of Education, is saddled with the responsibility of organizing the programme in a bid to enhance its quality.
The annual Spelling Bee Competition comes up among representatives of public junior and senior secondary schools across the 57 Local Government (LGAs) Areas and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the state. At this level, the Councils sponsor and coordinate the programme, while emerging winners represent their respective LGAs/LCDAs at the grand finale organized by the state government.
After the emergence of winners at the state level, the winner and runner ups are awarded cash prizes and other prizes such as an all-expense paid educational programme to Finland. Most importantly, there is always a remarkable celebration of the winner as the State’s One Day Governor and his/her runner ups as Cabinet Members, performing duties ranging from Deputy Governor, Speaker of the House, Commissioner for Education and Chairman, House Committee on Education.
